This research lab intertwines circus arts with the urban setting of a traffic light and accompanying pedestrian crossing, which will be reproduced life-sized in the studio. Circus artists will experiment with their acts, synchronised with the colour changes of the traffic light.
Key concepts such as “speed dramaturgy” and “audience experience” will dissect the codes of these micro-performances, exploring how they are created and perceived. This intriguing and experimental framework forms the basis for research into how movement and theatricality can be reinterpreted.
